What are Artist Trading Cards? They are small works of art about the size of a playing card that you can trade with other artists. You can use any medium you like!

Where did ATC come from? In 1997 a Swiss artist named M. Vänçi Stirnemann had an exhibit called Collaborative Cultural Performance that featured over 1000 of his card-sized pieces of art and at the end of this exhibit, he invited other artists to trade the cards that had made with each other.

To this day artists from all over the world and of all skill levels still create little works of art to trade with each other. You can find groups online or in-person or just trade some with your friends.

We asked our team to create some ATCs and we hope they inspire you to create your own!

“Watercolor Floral is a gorgeous collection with beautiful watercolor flora and fauna, adorable birdhouse images, and some stunning watercolor wash backgrounds. The fresh spring color palette is one of my favorites ever! I made these ATCs using some papers, flowers, and ephemera from this line. I used Prima watercolors confection set for the background.” –Jaya

“I created those 3 big ATC using Finnabair’s Golden Dragon amazing Effect Paste and some products from the Golden Desert Collection. I used some puzzle pieces for my background, painted them with black gesso, and add some texture using the Golden Dragon Paste with the 6×9 Stencil -Swirly Florals. I layered it with the gorgeous Laser-cut Chipboards. I heat embossed all of them. For the perfect finish, I used the Metallique Wax White Pearl.” –Nathalie
