What is a mould and how do I use it?
We are so glad you asked! Prima has many moulds to help you create your own cast pieces! They are a great investment as you purchase them once, and you can use them basically for forever. Moulds can be filled with paper clay, modeling material, resin, hot glue, cermaic powder, fondant and melting chocolate (Yes, they are food safe!), and so many more moldable/meltable products!
Once you have cast your designs, simply finish with any Finnabair paint and wax for a gorgeous realistic embellishment. (Our teams will share their favorite way to finish pieces below!)
All week long we have featured different tips and techniques on our media explaining what moulds are, how to use them, how to finish your cast pieces, etc. Check out Prima’s Instagram and Facebook for the delightful details.
Finnabair herself will be LIVE with us on September 29th right here! Join us and watch Anna share her expertise with all of us on how to create beautiful embellishments!
Today, on the blog, we are focusing on our brand new Finnabair Moulds to create unique embellishments for mixed-media art – in 3D form! Sanna, Lanette, and Iwona are Prima mould experts and have created stunning pieces for us. Scroll down to see!
“I’m so excited! Today we are combining different Finnabair Moulds. If you didn’t know it yet, I love using Finnabair Moulds! They are so versatile and you can easily create dimension to projects with them. In this project I used six different Finnabair Moulds and seven different Waxes. I love the balance of colors on the black background.”
“I also made a tutorial for you on YouTube. I hope you enjoy the process as much as I did!” – Sanna”

“I hope it inspires you to mix up a few moulds and create something new! Until next time, have fun creating!” – Lanette

“Moulds are great for creating dimensional projects, and a variety of Finnabair Moulds give you infinity options for compositions. Great products to use with moulded pieces are Memory Hardware Artisan Powders, because they go deep into the casting. To finish the pieces, all you need to do is add a touch of wax to the casting, and the magical effect is ready.”
