It’s all about the LACE!

Adding lace….a little or a lot….is a great way to add drama and femininity to almost any project. Our Design Team members show three unique ways to incorporate lace into a project. Try it out on your next layout, tag, or other crafting piece.

“It is all about lace on the Prima blog today. I have created a double Lace Embroidery Hoop altered with white lace and my favorite Finnabair mediums. I added lace to both hoops and then glued the small hoop on top of the large hoop. I randomly dry brushed white gesso and impasto paints on the front and sides of the hoops.

I added some Re-design with Prima moulded embellishments which have been painted with metallique paint in Soft Satin and lightly brushed with white gesso. I adorned both the hoops with GORGEOUS Prima vines and flowers, chipboard leaves and butterflies.” Tanya

“My Mumma turned 65 yesterday and I decided to make a pretty canvas card for her. I love lace and love creating with it. I used an old paintbrush and an embroidery hoop to embellish my canvas. Then I added touches of lace, Finn’s Metallique paints and of course the pretty flowers from the Darcelle and Pretty Mosaic collections. ” Stacey

I wanted to take a little bit different approach to the lace theme and instead of fabric lace I chose to do my tag using paper lace. I cut those strips of lace from the pink shades of the Surboard 4×6 journaling cards and added in some pieces of the gorgeous anemone print from the Midnight Garden journaling cards. I collaged everything onto a tag base using Soft Matte Gel. -Riikka

I also used the strips in the paper layers I raised from the mixed media influenced background. The darker tones of Midnight Garden create a great backdrop for the soft pastels of the Surfboard!
