Julie reaches back to her southwest roots as inspiration for her Summer, 2021 release! Bright colors, cool architecture, colorful folk art, woven and embroidered fabrics of Latin America. This collection was heavily inspired by Dia de los Muertes, and Frida Kahlo!
“Two of these stamps are very fashionable and I know they will be so much fun to dress. The third is a head stamp with the sweetest face and hair that will be so much fun to alter and layer.
The 6 remaining stamps are definitely inspired by my Southwest roots, first in Southern California and now in New Mexico. I have always loved the bright colors, the architecture, the colorful folk art, the woven and embroidered fabrics of Latin America. Dia de los Muertes and Frida Kahlo are everywhere in New Mexico and I can’t help but be affected by it.
Two stamps in the collection are Day of the Dead, one very fashionable bony gal and one younger girl who dreams of being the elegant and iconic La Catrina with her large hat and her ruffled dress. She comes with an adorable kitty, a play on the name La Catarina.
Three stamps are Frida inspired. The adult version, Milagra, is dressed in a very traditional Mexican folk costume that Frida was known for wearing. The teen versions are wearing simple dresses that will be fun to layer. The stamps have plain headbands for you to add as many flowers as you want, Frida style! The 6th stamp is a Frida head which can also be switched out with a sugar skull. There are large flower stamps included to make beautiful headpieces.
I hope these stamps inspire you to explore different cultures, let go with color and use your imagination using all the beautiful embellishments Prima has to offer.” ~Julie Nutting
