Mixed Media Magic

With the right ingredients, an artist can create magic! A pinch of this, a little of that, a sprinkle of creativity, and you are left with a dreamy mixed media creation. Whether you reach for an old favorite every time you create something new or try your hand with something different, there is no wrong way to create. What is your favorite medium to create with? Do you have a go-to ingredient that you include in everything you create or do you experiment with something new each time?

“It’s no surprise that my favorite Prima product is Prima flowers but this time around I decided to give something else a chance. The thing is, it’s not just hard but almost impossible to pick favorites when it comes to Prima products. One other item on my favs list is waxes. I decided to blend in quite a few of these beautiful wax shades to create a the background for my canvas. I then added some prima flowers and embellishments and finished off the canvas with some white splatters.” –Jaya

“I have to admit that I love all Prima products and try to find a place in my projects for all of them. However, my heart beats the most for all kinds of media and moulds. In this project, you can see it all – a composition made of resin castings, colored with liquid acrylic paints and waxes. I used both matte and metallic waxes here, they complement each other perfectly. The cherry on top is the Mermaid effect paste with large, wonderfully shiny particles. Even if you are not a fan of glitter and shine, these pastes are for everyone.” –Kasia

“The assemblage that I created is in connection with the terrible situation in Ukraine. Art is a great way of expressing emotions and contacting the world. This is my way. For the background and fantastic texture, I used sand paste and rusty brown paste. Found objects and old tools are the compositions. The red accent is a beautiful deep impasto color. Everything finished with waxes.” –Wuwu

“I have already said more than once how much I love liquid acrylics. These are just amazing colors! Using them, you can achieve so many different and interesting effects. You need a transparent color, add water and there it is. You need a more saturated one, use it straight from the jar. Well, in this work, I tried to achieve the effect of alcohol ink. It came out very similar in my opinion.” –Marina
