There is no wrong way to create a mixed-media piece. It can be very relaxing to combine multiple elements and beautiful colors to create something completely unique. With mixed-media, you can be as deliberate or as random as you like.

Today we have two very beautiful projects to inspire your next mixed-media work of art! Both of these have a moody feel to them that I just love!

“The previous month was very intense, so in November I decided to slow down a bit and create simple and relaxing projects. I wanted to play with the colors and I chose Liquid Acrylics in many colors. Though my design is mainly navy blue-green-purple, I used many different colors to create a multi-dimensional color effect. I used a lot of mold castings because it is the easiest way to create a rich composition. I finished the project with wax and splashes.” -Reniferove

“Hello, my creative friends! Today I am sharing a mixed-media layout that I created with the stunning New Magnolia Rouge Collection and lots of Finnabair goodies too!

I started building my background with a mix of random stamping and ink blending. Next, I added a bit of sparkly goodness with Finnabair’s Sparkling Onyx Jewel Effect Paste. To complete my background I used just a bit of Black Liquid Acrylic.

Finally, it was time to build my focal point using a mix of resin bits, die cuts, chipboard pieces, and even a couple of flowers. This cluster came together quickly, I hope you like it as much as I do!” -Lanette
