Moulds are one of my favorite mixed media tools. You can make countless castings and customize them to fit any project. Clay, resin, and hot glue are the most popular mediums to use in them, but since our moulds are also food safe you can create art that is edible. (just remember to keep your crafting moulds and cooking moulds separate 😊) What is your favorite mould?

“I just love molds! Why? When I buy one, I have an unlimited number of elements. I can use resin, plaster, hot glue and other materials, I can paint with acrylics, watercolors, waxes – the possibilities are endless. Thanks to this, we can adjust the castings to a specific project and color. I can’t hide that my favorite moulds are those with cogs. I used many sizes in this project – from tiny to large – to create the perfect background for the rest of the elements.” -Kasia

“Hello dear friends! Today is all about Moulds on the Prima Marketing Inc. blog. I created this mixed media Canvas featuring lots of AMAZING Finnabair products and Redesign with Prima moulds.

I prepped my canvas with black gesso. I then added some texture with a stencil and white sand texture paste. Once it dried I gave it another coat of black gesso. I then highlighted the canvas with white gold wax.

I created some castings with the moulds and air dry clay. All have been painted with black gesso (except the moths) and highlighted with vintage gold wax.

The moth castings have been prepped with clear gesso and painted with liquid acrylic paint and then highlighted with metallique waxes.

I glued everything onto my canvas with 3D matte gel and added a sentiment.” – Tanya
