  • Something Old and Something New

Prima, with a legacy spanning over two decades, has crafted an array of exquisite paper collections. Many of our earliest creations have become rare treasures, no longer available for purchase. If you chance upon a beloved collection, seize the opportunity before it vanishes into memory. Whether or not you have immediate plans for it, stow it away in your crafting arsenal for future inspiration. Even remnants of past collections seamlessly integrate with our latest designs.

This week, we’ve ignited the creative spark in our designers, challenging them to rummage through their paper hoards and unearth something vintage to pair with a contemporary counterpart. The results were nothing less than stunning!

So, what’s the oldest Prima paper collection residing in your craft haven?

    Project from Adrienne

I love mixing and matching Prima collections. But what is even more fun is to dive into your
stash and combine something you’ve been hanging on to for a while with something new! This
Secret Garden inspired mixed media canvas depicts a garden at night, with flowers peeking
    over an old garden wall.

My old products included paper from the Midnight Garden collection, some brown floral and
rose gold florals, and Memory Hardware flower lace trim. Then I mixed in some flowers from
collections that have come out over the past year, such as Lost in Wonderland and Bohemian
Heart plus some of the pretty daisies and a chipboard sentiment sticker from the latest
collection, In Full Bloom. I also used the new Secret Letters stencil to add just a touch of texture
to the background paper with some Modeling Paste.

And of course I used staples in my stash, such as moulds, like the Made of Bricks Mould to
create the garden wall. And every garden at night needs a moth so I used one of the large
moths from the Nocturnal Insects Mould. I painted the moulds with Impasto paints and then
added a layer of the new Metallique Wax in Celestial to the frame and moth for a bit of delicate
    shimmer.

    Project from Sanna

I love combining old Prima products with new ones. This time I created a round canvas using the old Midnight Garden collection featuring Finnabair’s new gorgeous waxes and stencil. Did you know that the Midnight Garden collection is one of my all time favorite collections. In this project, I wanted to create a beautiful combination of black and gold with a touch of silver. Finnabair’s new waxes Black Gold and Celestial were the perfect choice for that. I also used a little Vintage Gold wax here and there to add some golden tones. I love the result. It’s amazing!! Right? -Sanna

Today it’s all about mixing Old & New Collections, which I absolutely love to do! After all, it’s one of the best ways to use up your stash. After digging through my stash I decided to play with Frank’s French Blue Collection and one of my old favorites, the Poetic Rose Collection. Both of these collections have lots of beautiful flowers.
