There’s a chill in the air, Jack Frost is nipping at our noses, and creating beautiful ice-scapes on windows. Today our designers will show you how to create that gorgeous, metallic + frosty effect with a few Prima products.

Icing Paste + Metallique Paint

“I was going for a frosty, snowy effect in this canvas. I used an old photo as my inspiration and made a composition around the little skier. I chose to use “Lavender Frost” as my paper collection as those icy, dreamy tones seemed so fitting to the project. ” ~ Riikka

“I started by collaging some papers and old book pages to the background using Soft Matte Gel, adding white gesso on top, and then started creating dimensional layers. My main composition is done using 3D Gloss Gel, my trusty adhesive, but I also used that as base for a texture paste I created with Micro Beads and glitter. Icing paste and Metallique paint in “White Pearl” bring delicate shine to the canvas.”

Luckily, I had time for my dear Prima and I managed to create a festive mixed media canvas in advance with gold, silver and white colours. And what about you? I painted the little canvas with with gesso and added some texture with Art Extravagance – Stone Effect Pastes . I painted the wings with Art Ingredients – Mica Powder- Gold and illuminated them with a coat of white gesso. I added colors with the amazing Watercolor Confections- Shimmering Lights .
